"If you're a label reader, you may recognize annatto as one of the ingredients frequently found in a brick of cheddar—it's a natural coloring that gives cheese and other foods a bright orange hue. It comes from the Bixa orellana, a tropical plant commonly known as achiote or lipstick tree (from one of its uses). The ground seeds are a common spice in Mexican, Caribbean and Filipino dishes. The seeds are a brick-red color, about five millimeters long, and shaped like little puppy teeth.
Annatto is native to tropical regions in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. It was used by ancient Mayans as a body paint, and by Aztecs to deepen the color of their chocolate drink, according to the Handbook of Spices, Seasonings and Flavorings by Susheela Raghavan.

Damiana (Turnera diffusa) is a wild shrub native to Mexico, Central America, and the West Indies. It is used in traditional Maya/Mexican medicine as a diuretic, laxative, stimulant, aphrodisiac, and for treating diabetes and venereal diseases.

These beans from Central America are among the highest quality available in the world. They are freshly picked and hand-roasted, in local Mayan villages in the Stann Creek district, across the border from Guatemala. Maya Mountains
The Maya Mountains are a range of hills located primarily in west-central Belize, extending across the border into eastern Guatemala, where it descends gradually, eventually becoming the Vaca Plateau. Finally, it falls more abruptly to the coastal plain east and north of Belize.
The Maya Mountains are mainly made of Paleozoic-era granite and sediments. The highest points (Doyle's Delight and Victoria Peak) occur in the transverse Cockscomb Range, which extends seaward perpendicularly from the main divide.
Punching through the gloriously verdant jungles of southern Belize, Victoria Peak is one of the major attractions and a challenge for mountain climbing aficionados. Victoria Peak is the second-highest point in Belize, and the country’s smallest protected conservation area. At 3,670 feet (1,120 meters) high, Victoria Peak commands an impressive view of the southern district of Belize.
The ecology of Victoria Peak is slightly different than the surrounding Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, a thick, heavily forested area replete with waterfalls at lower elevations and smaller, hardier plants found at higher elevations.
The hike to the summit of Victoria Peak offers a lot of physical challenges while allowing visitors to explore the eco-diversity of the area, which includes bird species, broad-leafed trees, and all five of Belize’s big cat species.

100% WHOLE FRUIT unique blend of delicious Number 11 mangoes (#11) combined with dense Haden mangoes. The #11 mango is considered Mango Royalty and for good reason.
Mango trees sparkle with small pink flowers in January that slowly form into small green mangoes by May. The green juveniles start ballooning in size as their colors change into a reddish hue preparing for a boost from June showers. Ripening colors range from pale yellow to deep blue as the seed within is covered in rich dense flesh.
Mango is indigenous to India but is broadly cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions. Mangifera indica is the scientific name of this fruit, used extensively fresh, in juice, as a flavor, fragrance, color or pickle. The #11 is smaller than the haden mango and not as sweet. The exquisite, rich flavor and consistency of the pulp makes the best juice. However, mango farming is not organized, and it is difficult to collect a large quantity of mangoes of the same consistency. Apple, Bellyful, Blue, Judgewig, Julie, Slipper, Sugar, Thundershock and Number Eleven are just a few commonly seen types of mangoes in Belize.
Mango varieties vary in color, flavor, firmness, taste and shape/size, fibrous or hairiness. Trees produce more fruit and are better quality along the coast of Belize.
You have to pick mango at the right time and we work closely with local Garifuna villages such as Hopkins to hand pick perfectly ripened fruit. This provides valuable income to the community for fruit that would otherwise rot. As a mango ripens it converts carbohydrates into sugars and the best juice is made with the fully matured mango. This is why the riper something gets the sweeter it gets, but when it gets overripe the sugar content gets too high.
Belizeans enjoy mangoes when they are “green”, “turn”, “ripe”, and “over ripe” and most Belizeans eagerly await the mango season.
