This salad is a staple in my house. After a long day, I love nothing better than a quick and easy-to-make salad that is filling and full of flavor. The main attraction is the meat cooked in a smoky habanero salsa, which gives the salad a huge boost in flavor. I also love to put a little extra salsa on the top of my salad for an extra kick of spicy.
This salad is also very versatile. Feel free to play around with the salad toppings and the type of meat you use. I often use ground chicken and whatever toppings I have around the house. Remember the purpose of this salad is to be quick, easy, flavorful, and filling.
Put all the ingredients onto a baking sheet, except for the Marie Sharp's Smokin’ Marie Smoked Habanero Pepper Sauce. Bake at 350° for about 10-15 minutes or until they start to brown. The time may vary depending on your oven.
Once it has charred slightly, take the baking sheet out of the oven and let it cool. Then put everything into a blender and add the Marie Sharp's Smokin’ Marie Smoked Habanero Pepper Sauce. Blend the ingredients until it reaches the consistency you like.
Smokin’ Habanero Salad
Start to cook the ground beef on the stove with the Ancho Chile powder, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Once the meat is mostly cooked, add the salsa and cook until the meat is done.
Put the iceberg lettuce in a bowl and add all the ingredients. Then enjoy!
Delicious green habanero perfectly balanced n I’m al cactus. This one tastes great on almost everything. Out of all of Marie Sharp’s sauces this one definitely disappears the quickest in our household. I think we’ll be upgrading to the gallon next time.
My good friend Olive Woodeye from P.G Belize brought several cases to us a few years ago. My favorite is the comatose habanero, my second is cactus and green habanero. Truth is I like them all, just got a sample bottle of grapefruit/ habanero and it was tasty too. Thanks Marie from a loyal pepper head will be a life long customer.
The Green Cactus Habanero Pepper Sauce has such a layered flavor that is great on a variety of food. I love it on breakfast tacos, in gumbo, and have tried it on other meals. I rate it with an A+ in my book!
This sauce has just the right amount of heat with a wonderful habanero pepper flavor. I have tried many hot sauces and this is by far my favorite. It compliments so many foods that I use it practically every day.
We were first introduced to Smokin" Marie's in Belize. We have been addicted ever since. I always buy a case of the 12oz bottles and share them with all of my friends and work associates! Love it!
Love Marie's new Red Hornet Sauce! (good thing because I bought 8 bottles on faith) it's hotter than their other sauces and is not carrot based, so while the flavor is still fresh tasting, this sauce really lends itself to a wide variety of foods. This is my new "go to" for Thai food, as well as tacos etc.. caution, the heat is high and sneaks up on you.. but there is none of that chemical taste that you get from similar sauces. Go on, get stung.. I did.
